Our 2013 at Monte Barro Park

At the beginning of this adventure, managing the whole environmental education and responsible tourism activities of a park was a task that made us on the one hand a little frightened, but on the other hand very stimulating.

The work has given encouraging outcomes. Concerning environmental education, in a few months we involved in our activities about 1350 youngsters from 65 classes. We have created a menu of 44 different activities involving a dozen local educators. In order to do this, we involved all the bodies operating within the Monte Barro Park, such as the Center Autochthonous Flora, Alta Brianza Ethnographic Museum, the Archaeological Museum of Barro and the Perla Costa Bird Observatory.

The work on tourism was as much important, although it started only at the end of the year. We have proposed our first holiday package together with our partner Viaggi e Miraggi Lombardia and we are going to propose three more in the next months. All our proposals foresee a deep relationship with the territory and a compliance with all the local entities operating all around Monte Barro Park.

Outlook for 2014? Positive. The start-up phase is over and we are focusing only on the quality of our educational proposals, refining existing ones and proposing new ones. With regard to tourism, we are looking forward to welcoming the first people who have booked our holiday package.

In any case, we feel that we are doing our best. On Monte Barro today many environmental education activities can be chosen and we are determined to do even better.
